Erosion Control Site Management

MUCA has partnered with WSB University to offer the highest quality Erosion Control Site Management Certification on the market. This one day course is designed for those who supervise, run, or direct construction site operations. This course covers MPCA construction stormwater permit requirements, the
NPDES Construction Stormwater Permit process, MnDOT specifications, developing a SWPPP, and best management practices to reduce or control erosion and sedimentation. Other topics include site stabilization, perimeter control, and proper installation of best management practices. Also covered will be implementation of the erosion and sediment control plan, requirements of various regulatory agencies, and consequences of permit violations. This course is held at WSB University, 701 Xenia Avenue South, Suite 200, Minneapolis, MN 55416.

Pipelayer Certification Course

In order to perform water and sewer pipe-laying work, Minnesota law requires individuals to obtain a plumbing bond or be an employee of a person in compliance with the bond and insurance requirements of Minn. Stat. §326B.46, subd. 2. Individuals performing building sewer or water service installation are not required to hold a plumbers license if they have completed pipe-laying training. Pipe-layer Certification must be renewed every three years. MUCA has three versions of Pipe-Layer Certification available – online, in-person or in-house.

Confined Space Entry

Confined Space Entry – Online

The Confined Space Entry Course is offered through United Rentals Trench Safety

Geared toward the underground utility industry, this online course focuses on creating a safe environment for workers, as outlined in OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.146.

This course covers the 29 CFR 1910.146 standard as it relates to:

  • Identifying permit requirements for confined spaces
  • Use of gas monitoring equipment
  • Proper ventilation of confined spaces
  • Alternate entry procedures

Geared toward the construction industry, this course focuses on creating a safe environment per OSHA standard 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA.

This course covers the OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA standard as it

Use of gas monitoring equipment
Proper ventilation of confined spaces
Alternate entry procedures
Competent Person
Atmospheric/engulfment hazards
Required monitoring of hazards
Permit Program
Duties of Supervisors, Entrants, and Attendants
Multi-employer work-site communication
Rescue Services

All participants will receive a Course Manual and Certificate of Course Completion.
