MUCA Hosts MnDOT DBE/Workforce Collaborative

MUCA was proud to host the MnDOT DBE/Workforce Collaborative last week.

We reviewed data available for 2016; however, it only reflected a certain number of MnDOT projects, thus not providing us with a comprehensive overview of actual participation.

Discussions included issues with workforce retention, and creating an inclusive atmosphere on the job site.

House Bonding Bill Proposes $600M in Spending

MUCA continues to lobby and track progress at the Legislature to ensure critical infrastructure projects are funded. Included in this bill are the following: (all figures in thousands 000s)

  • State Matching Funds for US EPA Capitalization Grants $17,000
  • Water Infrastructure Fund
    • Wastewater $40,000
    • Drinking Water $15,000

Representing more than half of the proposed $600 million is the total spend allotted for the Public Facilities Authority of $114,963, and a total of $238,565 in funding for MnDOT projects.
