MN CGA Free Damage Prevention Meetings

Every year the MN Regional Common Ground Alliance offers FREE Damage Prevention Meetings to prepare your crews for the coming construction season and review best practices in Call Before You Dig.

These sessions are located across the state in the winter and early spring. To find one near you and reserve your spot, visit the MN CGA website here.

The Benefits of Being a Vikings Fan!

Trying always to look on the bright side of things, I have thought of a few benefits we can enjoy with our season-ending loss to the Eagles.

We are the NFC North Champions… the Packers are not (sorry Packer fans… OK, not really).

We got to witness some amazing football this season, including the “Minnesota Miracle” and recall that feeling of an unexpected win in the final seconds of a game – that was exciting! We got to experience the best regular season record the Vikings have ever had in their history (13-3)!

We have three pretty good free agent quarterbacks to choose from for next year.

We have a world class stadium (even though I don’t like it… football should not be played in a “glass terrarium”) that will be highlighted, along with our state, in 10 days.

One warning to the Eagles though…

Planet Underground Episode 7: Excavators (with Locators) Are the Solution

Planet Underground takes to the streets of St. Paul, MN, with experienced Xcel Energy locator Frank Mariano, one of only several hundred utility-employed locators in the U.S. who are assigned to protect buried infrastructure in urban cores. Across the country, fiber installations are on the rise, along with safety concerns.

We also go onsite with Jon Moulton and Joshua Richard of Q3 Contracting. Working with their own locators provides the extra time and close communication to best apply the specialized knowledge of their locators as they accurately mark underground infrastructure. Employing locators as part of the construction team provides a return on investment for utility contractors working in older, crowded below ground environments.
