Call For Visits!

Your legislator is in your District!

Now is the time to:

*Educate them on your business – share how taxpayer investment provides the public with much-needed services!

*Share your concerns on policies harmful to your business!

*Contribute to their campaign.

MUCA can set up a meeting or project site visit with your legislator. MUCA PAC contributions also help. Donate Here!

First Cornhole Tournament Is “in the Bag”

Cornhole Tournament

A perfect evening to relax and gather marked MUCA’s first Cornhole Tournament.

We had plenty of creative team names like “Boss of the Toss”, “Cookie Monster and Elmo”, and “The Bean Counters” with the best team name winner being “We So Corny”.

Many thanks to those who participated and a special thanks to our Sponsor, Tom Rooney with ADS – Advanced Drainage Systems.

MUCA Hosts MnDOT DBE Goal-Setting Meeting

MnDOT DBE Goal Setting

A good crowd was on hand for the presentation by Dr. Myers from the U of M on the “Conceptual Map” of how the DBE Goals are set for projects funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Authority (FTA).

Once again, “aspirational” goals that are based on data from various sources are what contractors will be expected to achieve.

Contractor representatives and contractors had many questions around the capacity of DBEs, how many DBEs actually bid prime contracts, and the inability to get any DBEs to call contractors back.

The proposed goals are:

2019-2021 FHWA 12.23%
2019-2021 FTA 9.12%

Comments Requested! MnDOT would like to hear from you. Read the Executive Summary and comment on these goals here.

Membership Welcome!

MUCA is pleased to welcome back Northdale Construction as a Contractor Member! Phil Lesnar, Northdale’s president, is very familiar with MUCA and served as Board President in 2008. We look forward to their active participation. Welcome back!
