Interested in teaching a Safety and Education program?

MUCA would love to have you as a speaker for one of our training programs. We invite you to fill out the form below and we will get in touch with you. Be sure to note your topic of interest.

Descriptions of our Training Programs:

  • Trenching and Excavating
MUCA offers a four-hour refresher course that will cover both confined space and competent person training. If you are an experienced excavator who requires a refresher in either of these categories, this is the class for you.
  • Pipelayer Certification
In accordance with new legislative requirements (2007 Chapter 140, Article 6, Sections 7 and 10, MN DOLI) all employees installing building sewer service and water service lines must receive training from a course prescribed and approved by the MN Department of Labor and Industry. The trained employee will receive a card showing satisfactory completion of the training. This course will cover all aspects of pipe installation including aspects of the Minnesota Plumbing Code, approved materials, types of joints, use of joints, determining size of drainage systems and approved methods of testing.
  • Erosion Control Certification
Beginning on February 1, 2010, new training requirements went into effect for all projects covered under the construction stormwater general permit. Training is required for those individuals who are preparing the SWPPP, overseeing implementation and supervision of the project and those performing installation of erosion and sediment control BMP's. Certification is required every three years. If you have not been certified in the past or have let your certification lapse, you need to take this course.
  • Competent Person and Confined Space
The Competent Person training program has been revamped to take into consideration the behavior and attitude factors regarding trench safety. Using the information gained over the last eight years, the course is designed as an exciting and innovative program showing the importance of safety in the work place, and particularly in the trench. This program will help the novice and the experienced employee to realize the benefits gained from a safe work place and the increase in productivity of all employees when using these methods. This program will increase the safety awareness of all employees, and help the employees identify and change at-risk behaviors.
